About NBWK

The Sifu of NBWK, Michael DiMaggio, was an Avionics Technician with the United States Marine Corps from 1985-1989. Following his service, Sifu was involved in a serious accident as a 20,000 pound front end loader left him walking with a walker at only 22 years old. His hip was fractured in six places and put pack together with an external fixator device. His lung was collapsed due to a broken rib and he had two broken bones in his spine. It was following this tragedy that Sifu was introduced to kung fu by way of his cousin, Susan Dineen. While his prognosis was to be in a wheelchair by 35 and require a spinal rod, neither occurred due to Sifu's introduction to the lifestyle of kung fu.
